October is National Women’s Small Business Month and we are thrilled to celebrate alongside WBENC. As a woman-owned and minority-owned business, we are strong believers that diversity is important AND that diversity in thought leadership is critical.

In support of Women-Owned businesses, WBEA is asking us all to evaluate our purchasing decisions and “make one switch” by replacing something that you regularly buy with a woman-owned brand. This is a simple and effective change that anyone can make and can be a valuable DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) exercise for companies. Stand up to the challenge. Make a conscious decision. Support a social cause. Be a force behind a positive change.

How You Can Support National Women’s Small Business Month?

By making one switch of an everyday essential, you will help increase opportunities for women-owned small businesses and female entrepreneurs. One micro decision can have a macro impact by bringing about a more diverse, balanced, and sustainable economy.

This could not come at a more important time. The data shows that the Covid-19 pandemic disproportionately impacted women, as more women split their time to lean in on childcare or left their jobs altogether.

Making the conscious choice to support a women-owned business this month is a simple gesture that can have a major impact.

Let’s Make One Switch

If you’re not sure where to find women-owned businesses to purchase from, we encourage you to visit the Women Owned Business Directory. You can search for women-owned businesses or products across several categories.

You may even consider making this a company-wide initiative. The purchasing decisions of a group of employees can quickly add up to make a significant impact in the marketplace.

Help us spread the word about National Women’s Small Business Month! Use the hashtag #BuyWomenOwned on social media to support women-owned businesses. Through increased conscious consumerism this fall and holiday season, you and your organization can help make a measurable impact on women-owned businesses.
